The fact is, every hour of every day in the U.S., someone dies of oral cancer, which is the sixth-most common diagnosed form of the disease. The five-year survival rate is only 57 percent, and oral cancer is one of the few cancers whose survival rate has not improved.

Vizilite oral cancer screenings use the latest technology to identify, evaluate, monitor and mark abnormal oral lesions suspicious for pathology. During the exam, we ask that our patients rinse their mouth out with a solution for one minute. Next, we examine your mouth with a special light. The Vizilite system can identify and mark any suspicious lesions before they are visible to the naked eye.

Early detection of pre-cancerous tissue can minimize or eliminate the potentially disfiguring effects of oral cancer and possibly save your life. Treatment can be more than 90% successful when cancer is caught early. Dr. Jennifer strongly encourages all of our adult patients to have this screening performed annually to detect early signs of oral cancer.
