Dental Implants, Crowns & Bridges
If you have teeth that need replacing, dentistry is available that can not only improve your appearance, but often eliminate spaces that can cause a domino effect due to their loss. Lemont Family Dental focuses on dental procedures which restore tooth function such as dental implants, crowns and bridges.
A dental implant is an artificial root that is placed directly into the jawbone where the missing tooth was present. Dental implants are considered the gold standard in replacing missing teeth, unlike bridges that attach and rely on neighboring teeth. There are many benefits to dental implants: preserving the bone amount in your jaws by keeping them in function, maintaining the correct function and alignment of teeth, and not destroying enamel on other teeth to support bridges. Dr. Jennifer is highly qualified to both place and restore dental implants.

ViziLite™ Plus Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer is increasing dramatically in the United States — one person every hour dies from cancer that started in their mouths. Here at Lemont Family Dental, we use the ViziLite Plus system for the detection of such cancers. The ViziLite helps us identify oral lesions at their earliest stage of development. When premaligment lesions or early stage cancer is found, treatment is simpler, less invasive and more than 90% successful. By utilizing the ViziLite system, we are able to identify suspicious lesions, often before they can be seen with the naked eye.

ReCare and Consultations
To maintain the best oral health possible, regular (recare) visits are vitally important. In fact, medical evidence has shown the link between oral health and systemic (overall) health is much greater than previously thought.
Typically recommended to occur every six months, each recare visit is far more than just a cleaning. It is a preventative dental exam. To start, we review your medical history with you, recording any changes such as conditions, symptoms or medications. We also thoroughly inspect your mouth, teeth and gums, looking for conditions that may need to be addressed. This would include detecting tooth decay, gum disease, and structural changes in your teeth as well as existing fillings and crowns. We also screen for signs of oral cancers.
With your visit, we may take digital x-rays, if necessary. In addition, we communicate with you regarding all aspects of your care and offer helpful guidance for maintaining the optimal oral health.
Digital X-rays and Imaging
We use digital x-rays that allow us to significantly diminish the amount of radiation needed to take images. We get your x-rays instantaneously, which also translates to faster appointment times and diagnosis. The digital images, which look like traditional X-rays, can then be enlarged and manipulated. This allows us to get a better view of what's going on inside of your mouth. Patients also report that digital x-rays are much more comfortable than traditional dental x-rays.
Composite Fillings
For patients who do not like the look of old metal fillings, composite fillings are a welcome alternative. We can easily replace your metal fillings with tooth-colored resins that are safer, stronger and more attractive. We match your composite filling to the natural color of your teeth and adhere the filling using a bond that actually strengthens the tooth's structure. This results in a restoration that feels wonderful and looks beautiful.
Laser Periodontal Treatments
Lemont Family Dental is the first dental team in the area certified to use a dental laser for treating gum (periodontal) disease. It is imperatve to treat gum disease because, if left untreated, periodontal disease can lead to tooth loss. With laser treatment, we are able to carefully clean the root surfaces, removing plaque, calculus [tartar], and bacteria from deep periodontal pockets, aiding in elimination of the infection. This non-surgical approach yields outstanding results and patients experience virtually no bleeding and minimal discomfort afterwards.
Soft Tissue Laser Treatments
With soft tissue laser treatments we re-contour the outline of your teeth and reshape the gums, greatly enhancing the physical appearance of the teeth and gums. Soft tissue lasers give us greater accuracy which results in an improved smile. When compared to traditional treatments, soft tissue laser treatments are nearly painless with little to no discomfort.
We also use the laser for many other applications, such as desensitizing teeth, treating cold sores, minor oral surgery, and biopsies.
Bonding
If you have chipped, stained or cracked teeth, dental bonding can help. In fact, dental bonding procedures are used not only to repair physical damage, but also to recontour flaws existing in tooth appearance. Dental bonding involves the use of a composite resins that are matched to the color of your teeth leading to a completely natural-looking result.
Teeth Whitening
When the outer layer of enamel of your teeth becomes stained, it can give your teeth a dull or discolored appearance. Using products such as tobacco, coffee, and wine can expedite this process. We offer a variety of whitening procedures that range from custom bleaching trays to chairside ZOOM treatments.
Veneers
If you have several teeth that are chipped, discolored, crooked or unevenly spaced, veneers can make a dramatic difference, enhancing your physical appearance while improving your self-confidence. Dental veneers are custom-designed shells of tooth-like ceramic material that gets applied over the surface of teeth. With veneers your teeth are beautifully aligned and your smile is bright and white.
TMJ Treatments
The Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is the joint that attaches to your lower jaw, acting as a hinge for the jaw. When this joint is disrupted of damaged, it can lead to a painful condition knows as TMJ Dysfunction. Typical symptoms include neck pain, headaches and facial pain. At Lemont Family Dental we offer welcome relief from TMJ pain. We work closely with you to diagnose if TMJ Dysfunction is the cause of your discomfort. For TMJ patients, we offer treatments including facial exercises, bite splints and medications to improve function and relieve pain.
Sleep Apnea
People who are diagnosed with sleep apnea can explore alternatives to wearing CPAP machines. Dr. Jennifer has had extensive training in sleep apnea and appliance therapy.
